#Neapolitandoori | Cinnamon Kitchen And Pizza Pilgrims Pop-Up | 9 Devonshire Square, London EC2M 4YL
A dream collaboration has happened! Pizza Pilgrims and Cinnamon Kitchen have teamed up for one week only. Pizza purists may freak, but the famous Piaggio van has parked up on the terrace outside Cinnamon Kitchen serving four exclusive Indian-inspired pizzas.
Hooray for the cheese-free and yoghurt-drizzled Spiced Venison Naanza (£8), Pizza Pilgrims is pretty much the only place I can order a cheeseless pizza without looking like a weirdo. Ade’s Lamb Rogan Josh Calzone (£8) was crammed with juicy slow cooked lamb and topped with salty anchovies.
There were originally seven pizzas trialed which was whittled down to three, the two aforementioned, plus the Bollyflower Cheese but Cinnamon Kitchen’s Vivek Singh convinced James and Thom from Pizza Pilgrims to add the Chicken Tikka Margherita. And it’s a good job he did, it turned out to be the number one best seller on the first day.
There’s a couple of fab cocktails with an Indian twist too – Ginger Negroni (£8) with homemade galangal ginger juice, Martini Rosso, Campari and plum wine, and the Pococello Spicy Spritz (£9) with Pizza Pilgrims’ own Limoncello, lychee juice and cracked black pepper, topped with Prosecco.
The pop-up is on from Monday 3rd August – Friday 7th August, 12pm – 9pm. No reservations.
