We’ll drink to the Brits!

www.russianstandardvodka.com

Talking of cocktails… With the BRIT Awards tonight (Feb 21), the people at Russian Standard Vodka have created a selection of cocktails to honour a couple of the nominees. This year the Outstanding Contribution to Music award has gone to Blur, the ‘Coffee and TV’ cocktail owes its name to one of Adrian’s favourite Blur songs (and it has an amazing video too). Or try The ‘Arctic Monkey’, a frosty ice slush puppy-esque cocktail named after the Sheffield indie rockers.

The Blur ‘Coffee and TV
50ml Russian Standard Vodka and 20ml coffee liqueur. Simply pour over ice in a tumbler and stir gently. Top with cream for extra Blur bling!

The ‘Arctic Monkey’
35ml Russian Standard Vodka, 25ml lime juice and 1 tsp. sugar. Simply blend with crushed ice and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a slide of lime.

Mango MADDness

www.wearemadd.com

Like mango? Like desserts? Well you’ll like MADD then! This place certainly is a niche, located a couple of doors down from Spuntino on Rupert Street, London, MADD serve up mango-based desserts, ice-cream, soft drinks, shooters and cocktails. An odd idea, it was very quiet when we popped in, but the desserts we tried were great – a pannacotta, Mango cheesecake, Mango tart, and the signature ‘Siam’ a warm sticky coconut rice.

You can have anything... as long as it's mango

Covent Garden to be taken over by burgers

In March, the Diner group is launching a sixth restaurant in Covent Garden at 190 Shaftesbury Avenue, less than a mile away from MEATliquor‘s new venture – MEATmarketMEATmarket will be on the balcony of the Jubilee Market Hall, open 7 days a week with 48 seats, and take-home will play quite a big part. We are told by both parties that there will be no burger rivalry. We love them both the same, but in different ways…

Do you like your burgers naughty...

...or nice?

Who knew pea shoots could taste so good

A perfect plate, and amazing onion cream

We had a little taster of the live music vibe when we dined with them on Friday night. The house band ‘Blam! Quartet’ were playing and, as usual, everything we ate was stunning. We were across the road from our office but it felt like a world away, we found it a great way to chill on a Friday night after a hectic week. Ade had the Salmon, coley and pollack fish cakes, pea shoot, fennel and kohl rabi salad £14.00, he especially loved the pea shoots! My Char-grilled poussin with toasted walnut, onion cream and courgette cous-cous £15.00 was lovely, especially the onion cream, must get the recipe for that.

The most hardcore dessert ever

A lighter option for Ade... But wasn't expecting it to be served cold

For dessert I was talked into having the Salted caramel chocolate tart £4 instead of the Sicilian tart by our cheeky waiter, it was immense, I went home on a massive sugar high. Ade’s Bread and butter pudding with orange crème anglaise £5 was a more sensible choice.

The Table are offering a whopping 50% off for their launch nights – Friday March 2nd from 9pm and Saturday March 3rd from 9pm. Special £25 two course set menu with free entry. Just use the code Musiclaunch1 on your reservation
