Adam Richman, Grilled!
As a graduate and before the world of food blogging, Adam Richman, 40 began a food journal to document the standout food he was discovering throughout the south eastern U.S. These places since found their way onto his show – the famed Man v Food for the Travel Channel, which quickly became their highest rated show. It certainly gave us ideas when we visited LA, it’s impossible to watch and not get hungry and desperate to travel. Now Adam is back with two new shows – Man Finds Food and Food Fighters.
Man Finds Food starts Saturday 4th April at 5pm and Food Fighters starts Sunday 5th April at 5pm, on Food Network, Freeview 41, freesat 149, Sky 248, Virgin 287.
If money was no object, what kind of restaurant would you open and where?
Because I may be doing this in the next few years, I’m gonna hold my cards close to my vest here. I’ll say this: it would combine two or more flavour profiles from my travels. I’d love to have a cool brick and mortar in Shoreditch or Hoxton or maybe Covent Garden and a food truck too.
If you had to eat the same meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Large order of vegan nachos. If I still had room, I’d say a salad with rocket or mesclun and a great vinaigrette and thin crust pizza with some sort of hot sauce on every damn bite.
What do you keep on your bedside table?
An iPhone speaker dock, mints, whatever book I’m reading, pen and paper, a landline phone, my watch, wallet etc, lip balm and a bottle of water
What is your career Plan B?
Centre-forward for Tottenham Hotspur FC
What is your favourite dish to cook at home?
Probably sushi or a great steak
Is there any food that you can’t stand?
Green bell pepper, maraschino cherries and American ham
Do you have any recurring dreams?
I don’t usually even remember my dreams to be truthful
Who would be your ideal dinner date?
A smoky eyed, multi-lingual, artistically gifted brunette, with good table manners, a love of spicy food, who is as comfortable at a roadside greasy spoon as she is with haute cuisine and doesn’t mind making out at the table.
What is the one object you can’t do without?
Sadly, my cellphone. My electronic leash…
