And That’s Magic! | Magic Roundabout London Winter 2017 Launch

Well that’s that! Summer is done and dusted, if that’s not depressing enough it seems that time’s been called on Autumn too now that Christmas cards are in the shops. But it’s not all doom and gloom and cold, wet nights because The Magic Roundabout, the 500 capacity open air good times joint in the middle of Old Street roundabout, have decided to transform their site into a tented, heated, ‘Decades’ inspired Winter wonderland.

Stepping through Old Street tube station you’ll take the ’time machine’ stairs and pop up into a homage to the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The brand new themed areas include a bonkers version of 60s Woodstock and a super sexy 1970s Playboy lounge (RIP Hugh Hefner). The main bar will be an all out 80s disco with futuristic art and palm trees and a VIP area that will take you right back to the early 90s – all decked out in Fresh Prince colours.

The winter relaunch also sees Smokin’ Lotus take over from White Men Cant Jerk. Smokin’ Lotus is the creation of Rosalind Chick who uses old family recipes as inspiration for her BBQ menu. The main ingredients are smoked in Rosalind’s home-built smokehouse and the 11 hour slow smoked beef brisket with hoisin sauce and Japanese-style creamy potato salad mash sounds unmissable. The award-winning street food line-up for The Magic Roundabout Winter wonderland is completed by Loaded Skins and Burger Bear.

The venue will play host to a huge range of events, highlights include an immersive Halloween party on 28th October in collaboration with Budweiser, a Liquid D&B party from Sine with Commix headlining on 4th November and the Wasted Chic Christmas Market on 5th December. The venue is also available for private hire throughout the season and makes a very original Christmas party venue for groups of up to 500. But first things first, on Thursday 19th October Magic Roundabout will be hosting a winter launch party to unveil the new winter venue. And, best of all, It’s absolutely free, YES FREE! Just be sure to book your ticket, you can’t just turn up! This is your chance to get the first peak at the new decor and sample food while sipping on sparkling cocktails, artisan coffee, craft beers and hot toddies! They’ll also be putting on loads of entertainment including Wasted Chic Fashion Sales Festive Market, DJs plucked from some of London’s biggest clubs (line up TBA), Magic’s go-go dancers extraordinaire, Glitter Girls, Vodka Luge, Photo booth, giant games and much more to be announced!
