Fred Sirieix from Channel 4’s First Dates, Grilled!

FRED SIRIEIX | FIRST DATES | GRILLED | WE LOVE FOOD, IT'S ALL WE EATFred Sirisix (pronounced see-ree-ex – it must be a problem if it’s on the bottom of his emails) is the maître d’ from Channel 4‘s massive hit First Dates and quite possibly, one of our favourite people on TV. Charming kind and polite with a French accent to make the girls (and boys) swoon. Without him, the programme just wouldn’t be the same and it certainly makes a refreshing change to see a genuinely nice person on our screens amongst all the reality TV drivel.

Although the restaurant used in First Dates is an actual real restaurant where regular people can eat too (the Paternoster Chop House), Fred’s ‘day job’ is elsewhere – as the general manager at Galvin at Windows. He is also the man behind National Waiters’ Day (amongst other things) which he launched in 2012 to celebrate all front of house staff and inspire people in hospitality careers. His motto is: ‘Learn forever, enjoy life and make a difference.’ We’re with you on that one, Fred.

Catch First Dates on Channel 4 on Thursdays at 10pm.
