I Should Be So Clucky | Autumn at Byron Hamburgers
Our faves, Byron Hamburgers have launched some new additions to their menu and we were amongst some other handpicked victims last week to test them out.
First off are Chicken nuggets (9 for 4.50 / 18 for £7.50) – made from scratch from actual chicken and served with barbecue sauce. A good job these are so reasonably priced as they are pretty addictive. They’ll also be going onto the kids’ menu as a main course option – a sure-fire kid pleaser.
With a bit of a break from the norm, Byron Hamburgers‘ new special is beef free – the Clucky Balboa (£10.50) – fried chicken breast, guacamole, sriracha mayonnaise, pickled red onions, sliced pickles and shredded iceberg. To add a bit of variation, they’ve added the option of spicing it up by adding their buffalo sauce made with Byron Hot Sauce (an extra £1.35). Messy, hot, dirty – this new special ticks all the vital boxes, be prepared to resort to a knife and fork for this one.
Finally, in a rather genius move, they’ve only gone and put a Freakshake (£7.95) on the menu. Featuring their extra-thick Oreo milkshake piled high with vanilla ice cream, chocolate brownie, whipped cream, Oreo cookie, chocolate and caramel sauces, topped with crushed honeycomb. Byron are the first chain (that we’re aware of) to put them on the menu and we think it’s bloody brilliant idea. We suspect many other restaurant groups are kicking themselves right now for not thinking of it first.
Available nationwide from 6th September.
