#YearOfTheTaco | Spring Taco Specials At Wahaca
Where else to try the new Wahaca specials than the Wahaca Southbank Experiment? Previously Dishoom’s Chowpatty Beach and built from eight recycled shipping containers (we have a thing for shipping containers).
In case you haven’t heard of Wahaca, then firstly, where have you been? It’s a chain of Mexican market food restaurants co-founded by Masterchef winner, Thomasina Miers and has spread like wildfire across the country. We love it, it’s one of our go-to restaurants, especially with the kids in tow when we’re at Bluewater. Also worth checking out is DF/Mexico, the same team is behind it and it’s just as good with brilliant prices.
The first of the Spring specials is the melt in the mouth succulent Slow-cooked lamb taco (£5.95). British lamb shoulder marinated in ancho chilli and orange and slow cooked with sweet onions until tender.
Then there’s my favourite, Crispy prawn taco (£4.95) – corn tortillas stuffed with chopped prawns spiked with chillies, spring onions and coriander. Deep fried until crispy and topped with a fresh tomato salsa and chipotle. Imagine a pimped up Mexican-inspired prawn tempura but ten thousand times better and you’re halfway there.
On sale at branches of Wahaca nationwide from 8th March to 8th April.

We ate as guests of Wahaca, this does not affect our review in any way. We always write with complete honesty.
