Mooli’s, 50 Frith Street, Soho, London W1 DSQ ** MOOLIS IS CURRENTLY RELOCATING**
Mooli’s. I have seen that word a million times on Twitter in the past few months, and tonight, we finally went.
Once we were inside, I realised I didn’t know what was on the menu, it was pure word of mouth, and the ‘Twitter Effect’ that got us there. Luckily. the lady serving us explained how it all works.
I went for a chicken mooli, and Ade a beef mooli. He wanted goat but was scared by the level of hotness (he’s a bit of a wimp when it comes to spicy food). We also had roasted pappadam bites with homemade chutney. I found these really spicy, but Ade was fine, I don’t get it! Anyway, my gorgeous guava mojito came to the rescue. Ade’s lime and mint juice was a bit on the small side though, luckily there was tap water in jugs to hand. We both enjoyed our mooli’s, loved the apple pieces in mine, but regretted my decision to remove the foil wrapper keeping it all together, what was I thinking? I ended up in a bit of a mess (see below).
Ade wasn’t going to leave without having his beloved pistachio kulfi, and me a mango one, and taking few photos of the words on the toilet walls. Slightly blowing their own trumpet, but we liked it.
Let’s hope the Mooli’s phenomenon continues to spread and more restaurants open up, I know one where we work would go down a storm.
