Chicken Licken | The Chicken Burger At Tommi’s Burger Joint, London
You all well know that we love a burger and Tommi’s Burger Joint have been one of our favourites since they came over to London from their Icelandic homeland in the summer of 2012. A burger for us usually has to be a rare and dirty, white shirt ruining chunk of ground beef in a bun. But not this time!
Due to popular demand, Tommi’s Chicken Burger (£8.90) has made the leap from burger of the month on to their permanent menu (at the Kings Road branch too). The staff say that they’re very proud of this chicken burger – and so they should be. Perfectly griddled chargrilled chicken, a creamy roast garlic and herb mayo, avocado with a hint of lime juice, crisp red onions, sliced tomatoes and shredded iceberg make this burger more than a match for its beefy counterparts. Luckily for Saff it doesn’t contain cheese either.
But if beef is your thing then you (like us) are going to have to hope and pray that Tommi’s put their October special on the permanent menu too. A collaboration with Prairie Fire BBQ, Tommi’s Smokey and the Brisket burger (£9.90), is simply too good to be available for only a month. A classic grilled Tommi’s patty, topped with 16-hour-smoked Kansas-style beef brisket, an incredible beer cheese, grilled coleslaw and spicy Prairie Fire BBQ sauce. Fingers crossed Tommi’s hear our prayers.
We don’t remember seeing shakes on their menu last time, the thick and creamy Coconut milkshake (£4.50) is pure heaven.
